Materialize supports multiple security mechanisms depending on your data source. PostgreSQL connections use Ed25519 keys with bastion hosts to keep databases off the public internet. Kafka connections support SSL encryption and SASL authentication including PLAIN, SCRAM-SHA-256, and SCRAM-SHA-512. Webhooks can be authenticated using HMAC verification with shared secrets. Certificates and credentials are stored securely to prevent exposure.
Materialize Cloud offers two plans: Cloud Capacity is an annual prepaid plan with volume discounts, while Cloud On-Demand is pay-as-you-go with monthly billing. Both plans offer the same performance and features.
